Synapz is an AI-powered conversation companion designed to help people create more meaningful connections online. By analyzing incoming messages and providing real-time guidance, it enhances communication clarity, fosters emotional connection, and eliminates the awkward silences that cause conversations to fade.
This passion project started as a rapid prototype during a 24-hour hackathon, where I built the first version through intuitive, fast-paced development. Recognizing its potential, I refined the prototype and conducted user research to validate the concept and identify core user challenges. This case study explores its application in the online dating space.

To validate the concept, I spoke with six male online dating users, uncovering their core conversation challenges. A universal theme emerged: keeping digital conversations alive is difficult.
Confidence Barriers: Lack of communication confidence creates a cycle where users overthink their messages, moving further away from their natural, authentic voice.
"I wish there was something to help those of us who struggle socially feel more confident when dating online."
Fear of Rejection: Awkward silences and ghosting often derail promising connections before they can develop naturally.
"The conversations start off okay, but after a while they become stagnant. We literally run out of things to talk about."
Notably, some users had already experimented with AI tools not just to "sound better," but to feel more emotionally prepared and confident in real-time conversations.

Synapz integrates seamlessly into dating platform chat interfaces as a discreet, real-time assistant offering two core features:
Smart Response Suggestions – Contextual conversation prompts that improve tone, clarity, and emotional resonance while maintaining the user's authentic voice.
Intent Decoding – AI-powered analysis of incoming messages to help users better understand subtext, mood, and conversational direction.
The goal isn't to replace authentic interaction, but to empower users to communicate with greater confidence and create deeper connections.

I successfully pitched Synapz to a local dating platform and received positive interest in potential collaboration, along with valuable product feedback. Moving forward, I plan to:
Conduct iterative user testing to refine features and improve usability
Expand beyond dating apps to other conversational platforms
Integrate advanced AI models for more personalized, context-aware support
